Meals to Nourish Body and Soul

Meals: an “Oh Wow” Experience

Buffet-style meals at the Christine Center are homemade with fresh, natural whole foods, grown locally and organic when available. Most are vegetarian. You often hear lots of “oh wow, this is incredible” floating through the dining room.

You’re invited to join the community in mealtime conversations. Two hallways with lots of sunlight extend from the dining room with small tables if you would prefer to take your meal in solitude. In warm weather there are tables on the patio.

Let us know if you have special dietary needs. We accommodate gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free diets.

You are welcome to join us for our home-cooked meals or stay in a modern hermitage with a furnished kitchen and bring your own food, or do some of both.

Dining Room

The Dining Room is a work of art with handmade cabinetry, original paintings, a handmade quilt as wall hanging and handmade fabric art panels gliding gracefully across the pine ceiling. A bank of windows and skylights lets in sunshine. During warm months there’s dining on the patio accompanied by hummingbirds and flowers. Coffee and tea service and fruit are always available in the dining room.

Our Philosophy of Food

We emphasize natural foods and meals made from scratch. Many of the vegetables, fruits, breads, honey, maple syrup, and eggs served, are collected from our organic gardens and from local farmers. Our herb garden is year-round made possible from the passive solar windows. Our cooks bring unique creativity and style. We celebrate the vegetarian specialist, down home cookin’ authorities, and food intuitives who prepare nurturing dishes. The food on our tables has a sense of inner spiritual nourishment in harmony with the land.
