Join us to re-member and claim the stories from your life including: your Innate Wisdom, your Learned Wisdom and your Wound Wisdom.
You are invited to dive deep into your Self and explore the tapestry of your life, by tapping into our stories we can have a reverence for them. We are who we are, not despite our stories, but because of them.
Instead of learning steps to a specific dance routine, Free Form Dance gives us unlimited access to interact with our unique life stories. Our stressful situations become places for us to learn from, moving away from a survival mentality, unraveling myths from our ancestry, and learning to dance in the flow that resides in and around us all.
During our three days together we will embark on an inward journey where each session builds on the next. We will begin with an Introduction to Free Form Dance & Movement making this class accessible to anyone who is interested. No previous dance experience needed. Participants will have time to journal and process their work with the group during the retreat.
Adina has been connecting with her body through Modern Dance since the age of 5 years old when she started taking classes at the Center for Modern Dance Education (in NJ) and continued throughout her college years, at Earlham College, where she choreographed many dance pieces through Dance Alloy. In 2010, on the Spring Equinox, Adina was one of 11 dancers in the medicine dance “For the One”, in an outdoor arbor in Tennessee, where she danced for 2 days in ceremony to a tree and back, to the tree and back again. During this time she was fasting from food and water, sleeping under the stars, & participating in sweat lodges. As result of this experience Adina created the Tribal Dance Collective ritual dance group in Iowa City in 2010 where she spent many magical evenings with friends dancing around trees and connecting to the energy of the Earth. Adina completed a 3 ½ year Shamanic Apprenticeship in 2013, she is Mesa Carrier initiated in the Peruvian, primarily Q’ero, Inka Lineage. She traveled to Peru in 2011 and 2013 with her apprenticeship group and teacher. Adina is a ritual leader in her community and offers public and private earth based ceremonies.
Through a combination of her dance training (but more through her yearning to move her body for her healing), shamanic ritual work (which gave her tools to connect to the unseen realms), and her experience as a group leader, Adina listened to the underlying Energy of the Universe and brought forth a 6 week class to share that has touched many individual’s hearts.
