“Your spirit doll will support you to make decisions that are the right ones for you.“
If you want a deeper connection to your Ancestors, your Spiritual Guides, your Inner Self, or to the Great Divine…creating your own Spirit Doll can be the perfect vehicle to accomplish that.
Dolls save lives. They do. Think about it. From ancient fertility rituals to child’s play, dolls have played a vital role in every culture throughout time. Dolls are often mirrors of the inner self, or an ally for a wounded child. Since the dawn of history, humans have been drawn to small spirit figures that dance, protect, and charm. Most ancient dolls found in tombs were very simple creations, often made from such materials as clay, rags, wood, or bone. The manner in which these “spirit dolls” were placed leads anthropologists to believe that they were cherished possessions.
During this weekend workshop you will pause long enough to reflect on your inner knowing, you can find your own answer in your heart. You have the ability to reconnect with yourself in a way that will help you unlock what may have been keeping you stuck. You will look at what no longer fits or serves you and begin to make choices from a place of personal power and self-responsibility. Your spirit doll will support you to make decisions that are the right ones for you.
While all supplies will be provided, we will collect twigs and bits of Nature from the Christine Center grounds. Plus, you are welcome to bring leaves, as well, and moss, feathers, seed pods, or any other materials that seem to attract you. For fabric, think of bringing scraps of old garments that have been worn and loved. Scarves are wonderful for their softness and draping. You might bring small objects that are sacred or special to you. Old jewelry, single earrings, ribbons, for adorning your Spirit Doll.
Most importantly, you will be setting an intention for your Spirit Doll – will it be a wish for wisdom? Creativity? Self-awareness? As you construct you spirit doll, you will make artistic and intuitive choices that result in a cherished possession – your deeply individual and intrinsically beautifully intuitive Spirit Doll. Over the years, I have found that the ‘Spirit’ of the doll will inform you and almost create her (or him) self.

Chris Flynn:
Chris has been facilitating heart-centered groups for over 50 years.
She creates Sacred Spaces where people feel safe and comfortable expressing and sharing what’s in their hearts and minds.
From the Consciousness Raising of the 60’s, to The Course in Miracles of the 70’s, all the way up to present day, she has always invited participants to get out of their heads and into their hearts, and to speak from their own personal experience.
In the 1980’s she worked as a lay-minister and outreach coordinator for several Unity Churches. In the 1990’s she completed her Masters in Metaphysical Pastoral Counseling and was ordained as a non-denominational minister. She founded Conscious Connections Community, where she facilitated weekly groups and retreats. Her groups and workshops were closely affiliated with Unity, Unitarian, and Science of Mind churches.
For many years, Chris volunteered on the Suicide Prevention hotline. Then, in 2014, Chris joined her local Hospice Grief Support team. Seeing the need for community, beyond what Hospice could provide, she formed the New Horizons Community for widows and widowers. This group has been meeting via Zoom for three years. Her groups have included: Loss in the Second Year, The Five Invitations, Friday Family Check-in, Grief in the Time of Covid, The Artist’s Journey through Grief, Grief in the Holidays, and It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again.
As a Catholic youth, Chris had the ability to “blur her eyes,” and see what the priests and nuns really meant. Now, at 75, and a student of the Tao, those early perceptions have come full circle, fortifying her concept of creating Sacred Spaces for personal and group growth.
Chris lives in the California Redwoods with her husband and Saint Bernard. Six years ago, while visiting her Wisconsin relatives, she discovered the Christine Center and immediately found her spiritual home. She has attended many of the Christine Center’s virtual classes, the weekly Tao group, plus, last year she attended in person, The Tao in the Summer. Through ‘Quantum Connecting via Zoom’ (thank you Sr. Gabe), Chris enjoys her deep connection with the Christine Center community.
