Clark County Spring into the Arts
April 25 & 26, 2025
Hosting seven artists, the Christine Center celebrates the beauty of our natural woodland sanctuary and rural Wisconsin life. Our artists are creative makers of vibrant paintings, artful pottery, marvelous metalwork, and magical beadwork. A festival of the transcendent and the everyday – each artist in their own way celebrates nature’s luminosity, shape, line, and the legacy of working with the woods and the land.
Visit our superbly curated spiritual bookstore and serene chapel. We’ll offer a singing bowl sound-bath and invite your brushstrokes to our annual intuitive art tour mural, this year celebrating trees, sanctuary, and woodland whimsy and play.
Taste cookies baked from an authentic 12th century monastery recipe, sample local maple syrup, and enjoy lovely herbal tea. Just for the joy of it, we conclude each day with lively, invigorating drumming.
Schedule:
Friday, April 25: 9:00am until 5:00pm
Saturday, April 26: 9:00am until 5:00pm

Meet our Artists!

Linda Jensen of Toivola, MN
Guest Artist at the Christine Center
Once upon a Canvas: Joy of Place!
Linda’s love of natural images – land, mountains, water and creatures – shines through in the art she creates. Her medium is acrylic paint, and Linda’s brushwork is direct and expressive, each canvas bursting with joy. Painterly and impressionistic, the paintings celebrate an exuberant sense of place. Her creative expression comes from sensing the world with abundant appreciation. Linda paints art that is bright, heartful and happy.

Linda Treglowne (NEW) of Loyal, WI

Inspired by what I love!
“I’m a dabbler at heart, expressing my creativity in a variety of media including fiber, acrylics, and salvaged objects.” Often, my artwork is a quiet tribute to the beauty of life forms that hold a special niche in my heart. The images I create are often the result of coming to terms with the temporal nature of life. It’s been my lifelong dream to exhibit my work beyond the walls of my own home. I specialize in human and animal portraiture, woven pictorial tapestry, crocheted rag rugs and accessories, hand-knit and handwoven wearables, and found object/recycled creations.

Wade Britzius of Willard, WI
Guest Artist at the Christine Center
Legacy and Lineage: Rural Life Alive!
Wade Brizius presents striking photos of historic heritage: documentary black-and-white images of rural Wisconsin life, made in Trempealeau County during our nation’s bicentennial year, 1976. “My goal was to document and preserve a slice of life as it was at the time—especially those things that were passing away. You will see grain threshing, gathering firewood, and everyday working life captured with a universal quality of feeling and grace. Images of older people and their personal world, now gone, jump out from the frame with historical meaning to touch your heart.”

Lynn Schafer of Wheaton, IL
Guest Artist at the Christine Center
For Love of Beauty and Making!
Offering unusual wood sculpture and new mixed media and watercolor paintings, S. Lynn’s art is an expression of her free spirit and her love of nature’s grace and loveliness. Her work aims to appreciate natural beauty, to delight with juicy color, and—now and then—to surprise the viewer with play and whimsy. Lynn has a lifelong interest in the magic of making. Each block of wood, each piece of paper offers a new creative moment. She has shown her sculpture and wood carvings in various venues, and this year offers a fresh discovery of watercolor in various styles and richly saturated hues.

Jean Kubes-Werremeyer of Chaska, MN
Guest Artist at the Christine Center
Creative Soul Expression!
Pottery, mandalas, and mixed media art inspired by nature, intuition, and soul.
“My pottery and my paintings are created as free from ego as possible. The intention is to allow color, image, and shape to come through authentically and intuitively. The pieces express my love of nature, and much inspiration comes from my meditation and contemplative practice.”
Jean has studied pottery, drawing, and painting in Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, Texas, and New Mexico. She has taught several mandala drawing and intuitive painting workshops, and has shown her work at art events throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Henry Eisenhauer of West Bend, WI
Guest Artist at the Christine Center
Listen! Upcycle! New life comes!
I create sculptures that express the inspiration of nature, spirit and heart. Drawing inspiration from a deep inner prompting, my creations combine geometric and organic forms to create exciting and transforming compositions. I like to use found materials, giving metal scraps and even old CD’s new life. My techniques, informed by decades of professional experience in metal work, include plasma cutting, welding, and a variety of manual and machine treatments.

For the Love of Trees!
This year, S. Gabriele is offering original mixed media, watercolor, and intuitive paintings, as well as beadwork in deep honor and appreciation of the Christine Center Woodland Sanctuary. The art for sale celebrates trees’ varying expressions: mixed media and watercolor pieces, tree-inspired handcrafted prayer beads, blessing bracelets, and ceremonial necklaces. Rich in spiritual symbolism and life-wisdom, each piece offers a glimpse into the mystery and wonder of the woods—and of each tree. Specially designed greeting cards and other woodland-themed products are also available for purchase.
