Sacred Sound, Sacred Silence
A Weekend of Kirtan and Meditation
June 26-28, 2026
With Kaita Bliffert, Fred Bliffert and Ron Moor
Chant, sit, enter the silence, deepen, connect, heal.
Let the practice meet you where you are.
Sacred Chant is a pathway, enhancing our capacity to open to Source, God, Spirit. Join us for a joyful weekend of exploring, expanding, deepening and healing through sacred chant and silent meditation.
This is a weekend of call-and-response chanting rooted in the ancient Bhakti Yoga tradition of Kirtan, interwoven with silent meditation. Together we will explore sacred sound as a pathway to depth, connection, and inner stillness. Each chant session will be followed by silent meditation, allowing sound and silence to deepen one another.
The chants – primarily in Sanskrit, the sacred language of India – are simple and accessible, often only a line or two. You will learn their origins and meanings, along with phonetic pronunciation guides. Sanskrit carries a vibrational quality that resonates through the body and nervous system, supporting a meditative state that touches body, mind, and spirit.
Throughout the weekend, we will explore chants for healing, grounding, release, and opening to higher awareness. You will leave with practices you can continue at home.

Experience:
-
- We will learn simple chants in Sanskrit, along with one or two in English—chants that honor the sacred earth, invite healing, soften what is held, and open us to deeper awareness. Their phrases are brief and spacious, easy to carry within you long after the weekend ends, quietly nourishing your own practice.
- We will also enter a Seven Chakra chant, where sound, movement, and imagery meet. Voice and body become aligned, and the subtle currents of energy are gently awakened.
- On Saturday evening, we will step into a sonic journey held by the deep resonance of Tibetan temple gong, singing bowls, monochord, reverie harp, tingshas, chimes, and other devotional instruments. These layered tones settle the mind and guide us inward, into a silence that feels alive and steady.
- On Sunday morning, we will gather for the Heart Sutra chant and meditation—an offering of clarity and blessing as we complete our time together.
