Fall Sound Medicine Retreat: Mantra, Meditation & Yoga Nidra
with Amie Heeter & Stephanie Chee
October 17-19, 2025
This retreat weaves threads of yoga’s more subtle practices with the ancient healing power of sacred sound, activating an orientation towards inner listening, replenishment, and attuning to the rich inner landscape of our being – a space that exudes vibrancy, intuitive knowing, and soul resonance.
As autumn invites us to shed what no longer serves and gather the wisdom of our experiences, we’ll explore mantra as medicine for the soul. Through time-tested practices of sacred sound, stillness, breath-centered movement, and self-inquiry, we’ll come home to the felt remembrance of inner and outer support that is always with us and in us.
“Amie is the best yoga instructor I have had yet in the 20 years I have been coming to the CC. She was very accommodating to a large group with lots of different levels of practice experience. She did a lot of “value added” teachings that broadened my knowledge base and makes me eager to learn more.”
Our days will include mantra as a healing practice, breath-centered slow flow yoga, meditation, yoga nidra (guided relaxation with sacred sound), writing, reflection, and group dharma discussions – as well as ample free time to explore the surroundings and enjoy the quiet, creative atmosphere.
You’ll learn therapeutic applications of ancient Sanskrit mantras, discover your own relationship with sacred sound, and develop sustainable sound medicine practices for navigating life’s challenges with greater wisdom and inner connection. May this retreat help carry you into a season of empowered connection, clarity, and the recognition that you are the medicine you seek.
Some yoga experience is recommended, open to all people and levels of practitioners.
Your Guide for the Journey:

Amie Heeter
Amie Heeter is a nature enthusiast, adventurer, and lifelong learner particularly motivated by the intersection of mind/body traditions of the East and modern research sourced in mindfulness and neuroplasticity in the West. A yoga and meditation teacher since 2004 and currently holding 500hr certification, she regards yoga, meditation, and mindfulness as some of the best systems available to sustain health in our body, cultivate stability and resilience in our mind, and open pathways to the luminous heart.
Amie received her first teaching certifications in 2003 and 2004 through the Integral Yoga Institute. In 2007 she began studying with Rod Stryker and received Parayoga certification (now Tantra Yoga Alchemy) in 2014. Mentorship with Parayoga offered significant training with the subtle practices and profound impacts of pranayama (breath practice), meditation, mantra, and yoga nidra (non sleep deep relaxation). These studies led her into the wisdom of Tantra, Ayurveda, and the Sri Vidya lineage of the Himalayan Tradition. Amie continues to study with teachers, including Pandit Rajmani Tigunait of the Himalayan Institute, and emergent teachers such as Tracee Stanley and Indu Arora among the dozens she’s received from over her 20 years of study. Nature was her first teacher, and continues to be an intimate part of her practice and inspiration. Amie hosts group classes, various Yoga Studies and wellness courses, leads regional and international retreats, and works privately with individuals.
