Fall Yoga, Meditation and Yoga Nidra Retreat
The Spark of Tejas: Building Luminosity, Courage and Compassion
with Amie Heeter
October 16-18, 2026
In this retreat, we’ll center tejas, our spark of consciousness that drives us to direct our willpower and actions towards that which ignites our sense of belonging and purpose (aka unique gifts) and brings out our radiance. Tejas is considered a vital essence, the polishing force that our relationship to practice brings forward. It builds our stamina to hold our precious attention as refined awareness. This spark of knowing flows with us as we navigate the wins and highs (when we want to cling) and through the strongest of suffering (when we want to push away), allowing us to be in greater relationship with our humanity.
Yoga invites us to be in relationship with our essence, the Self, but it also allows us the opportunity to shift our relationship to the inner voices we struggle with most – our inner critics, judgers, and cagers that cause us to shrink and abandon ourselves. Those voices are a part of us, so pretending they aren’t or falsely exiling them doesn’t work. The key is knowing these voices that confine us to our stories don’t have to run the show, narrate the experience, or determine the outcome. Yoga builds our relationship to our wholeness, our shadow, and our light. We welcome all of ourselves and step into what’s possible as we build our capacities for discernment, compassion, discomfort, sitting with the uncertain, and being in relationship to the power of liminality.
We’ll explore both the philosophy that informs the teachings and practices that activate this vital essence, tejas. Practice portions will include movement and stillness practices such as breath-centered slow flow yoga movement, mantra, meditation, and yoga nidra.
All levels are welcome to this retreat. Some familiarity with yoga is recommended.
“The program was the most powerful and beautiful experience of my life! I absolutely loved everything about it. Well done, and I plan to come back next year!”
“Amie is the best yoga instructor I have had yet in the 20 years I have been coming to the CC. She was very accommodating to a large group with lots of different levels of practice experience. She did a lot of “value added” teachings that broadened my knowledge base and makes me eager to learn more.”
