Join S. Gabe and Friends online in a monthly meditation:    A pop-up online Full Moon community to manifest in our “BEING” the world our hearts know is possible.

Theme for 2025:

In community, let us manifest in our “BEING” the world our hearts know is possible.

The 2025 moon meditations invite a monthly sacred virtual sanctuary. Together we enter the Great Silence, offering one another quiet Presence, and letting Soul shine like the brightest moon.

Such Soul-shining is why we are here, alive, now. It is what our living and our practice has prepared us for. Each month for 30 minutes or so, we will enter the Stillness that calls us, leaving behind our separate personal agendas, noise and busyness. We let “me” become “we” and offer the finest of our collective blessing to one another and to the world.

Plan to be with us for about an hour. Each meditation time will include some initial seed-thoughts particular to the sun-sign in which the full moon is occurring, followed by personal intention-setting. We’ll meditate for about 30 minutes in silence, ending every meditation with the Christine Center Prayer of Unity. A brief sharing of experiences and suggestions for ongoing reflection bring our time to completion.

Why meditate at the full moon time?

During the full moon time there are both spiritual and physical energies afoot. Earth itself “feels” the full moon. For the moon to be “full”, the Sun is opposite the Moon with Earth between them. As a result, the opposing gravitational pull of Sun and Moon creates both higher and lower tides in Earth’s waters. Likewise, we are physically about two-thirds water, and can sense the subtle gravitational “tug” between high and low in our body. For example, more babies are born at full moon time, and collectively, emotions are reported to be more intense. It is certainly a prime time to slip into stillness and to practice compassion.

What is the spiritual meaning of the full moon?

“Fullness” is the key. In most spiritual traditions, a full moon symbolically reminds us to shine “fully” with divine light in the same way the moon “shines” fully the light of the sun. Thus, the full moon invites a deep inquiry into the shining forth of our highest aspirations and values of soul. It is also a gratitude-time to celebrate all that is full in our lives. Likewise, we can use the full moon’s illumination to amplify compassion and to intend the shining of goodness for all beings. Recognizing the spiritual power of a full moon, many spiritual traditions, both East and West, align festivals with this time.

Why use the names and the astrological meanings and seed-thoughts of the full moon sun signs?

The short answer is: It’s fun! Moreover, they reflect universal synchronicities of the one sky we all share. The very earliest of human spiritual activities were informed by the placement of the stars, the sun and the moon. The moon names are from The Old Farmers’ Almanac and reference Indigenous wisdom and European settlers’ experience of nature in the North American hemisphere. According to western astrological wisdom, the annual twelve full moons, each in a particular constellation, reflect the synchronicity of that constellation’s planets and stars, along with their corresponding spiritual qualities, opportunities and challenges. The western astrological sun-signs are commonly known, are a convenient way to organize the reflection for each full moon, and offer suggested spiritual energies to focus the meditation.

How will we meditate?

The intention is to practice One-ing. The invitation is to enter the stillness, to drop into the heart and to radiate love and blessing, and to receive love and blessing: all ONE, and all without exception. At each meditation time, the host will suggest a way to focus the meditation, but you are free to enter into whatever silent practice serves you best. Every 10 minutes a bell will chime to offer an opportunity to inspire and to deepen the meditation. You might also silently pray with rosary beads or other prayer beads, and if you are so inclined, to use a book of suitable spiritual reading to focus the prayer time.

What is the Christine Center Prayer of Unity?

A form of this prayer has been prayed at the Christine Center since it was founded in 1980. Echoing the intertwining of time and eternity, it draws wisdom from several spiritual paths, and speaks to the various ways our spiritual being is expressed in human experience. Most importantly, it confirms our ONE-ness in awareness, compassion and presence. Here is the prayer:

In the Name of the One God, Mother-Father of us all and everything, We are one Mind in the Light of Holy Wisdom,
We are one Heart in the Radiance of Pure Love,
We are one Body in the Resonance of Divine Power.
All of creation is One,
in Light and Love and Power,
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be. Amen

Can I conclude with a prayer of my own choosing?

Absolutely! The Christine Center welcomes you and whatever spiritual path and practice has now brought us together. Please join us at the full moon time to meditate and pray in any way that fits for you. What a lovely way to practice how “many” are already ONE.

The gathering is via Zoom, 6:30pm – 7:30 pm Central Time

Snow Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation LEO. Its energies bring abundance, joy and enthusiasm. Playfulness and joy are present. February’s typically cold, snowy weather in North America earned its full moon the name snow moon. Storm moon and hunger moon are other common names.

Seed-thought: To meet the good that can be, but is not yet, requires releasing the known. The new has no map. Because others have dared and taught us, we venture into mystery and where we have not been before, for the sake of those yet to follow us.

March 14, Friday

Worm Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation Virgo. Its energies promote flow and spontaneity. Indigenous people in the northern hemisphere called this last full moon of winter the worm moon after the worm trails that would appear in the newly thawed ground. Other names include chaste moon, death moon, crust moon and sap moon, after the tapping of the maple trees.

Seed-thought: In Stillness, in silence, the “weather” of emotion quiets, the tumble of thinking stills. Now can arise Holy Knowing, Intuition. I meet Life and it is One, alive, and always co-arising

Indigenous people in the northern hemisphere call April’s full moon the pink moon after a species of early blooming wildflower. In other cultures, this moon is called the sprouting grass moon, the egg moon, and the fish moon.

Seed-thought: In stillness, sensing deeply, there is enough and more than enough, always. Releasing, and opening, willingness appears. Holding steady, conflict resolves. Open-eyed, all is Light.

May 12, Monday

Flower Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation SCORPIO. Its energies are turbulent, reveal difficult truths, and call for reckoning with reality. Many cultures refer to May’s full moon as the flower moon thanks to the abundant blooming that occurs as spring gets going properly. Other names include the hare moon, the corn planting moon, and the milk moon.

Seed-thought: Who I am is not what I believe about myself, or who I have made myself to be. In the waning of who I think I am, Soul can shine. In forgetting “me,” I remember who I am.

June 11, Wednesday

(Fullest Moon at 2:46 AM CDT)

Strawberry Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation SAGGITARIUS. Its energies invite self-awareness, promote future dreaming and bring a return of positivity. In North America, the harvesting of strawberries in June gives that month’s full moon its name. Europeans have dubbed it the rose moon, while other cultures named it the hot moon for the beginning of the summer heat.

Seed-thought: In shining, Soul creates a Lighted House. My whole being is welcome there. Therein be Love.

July 10, Thursday

(Full Moon at 3:38 PM CDT)

Buck Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation CAPRICORN. Its energies promote hard work and discipline. It is time to give attention to routine and to follow through on promises. Male deer, which shed their antlers every year, begin to regrow them in July, hence the Native American name for July’s full moon. Some refer to this moon as the thunder moon, due to the summer storms in this month. Other names include the hay moon, after the July hay harvest.

Seed-thought: “Welcome”, I say, to all beings and blessings I offer. Soul-light shines forth without exception.

August 9, Saturday

(Fullest Moon at 2:57 AM CDT)

Sturgeon Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation AQUARIUS. Its energies are ideal for deepening and personal growth. Time to be true to Self. North American indigenous fishing tribes called August’s full moon the sturgeon moon since the species appeared in number during this month. It’s also been called the green corn moon, the grain moon, and the red moon for the reddish hue it often takes on in the summer haze.

Seed-thought: I am what I most deeply desire. That which I most deeply desire I am. I give myself to Life.

September 7, Sunday

(Fullest Moon at 1:10 PM CDT)

Harvest Moon or Full Corn Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation PISCES. Its energies are diverse and can be polarizing. Balance and steadiness are key. September’s full corn moon is so called because this is when crops are gathered at the end of the summer season. At this time, the Moon appears particularly bright and rises early, letting farmers continue harvesting into the night. This moon is also sometimes named the barley moon, and it is often the nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, earning the title of ‘harvest moon’.

Seed-thought: We are Spiritual Being and Human Matter. Earth-nurtured and nurturing Earth, we inter-Be.

October 6, Monday

(Fullest Moon at 10:48 PM CDT)

Hunters Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation ARIES. Its high energies can provoke reactivity and overwork and overwhelm. Mindfulness and letting go of things beyond our control is key. After the harvest moon comes the hunter’s moon, in the preferred month to hunt summer-fattened deer and fox unable to hide in bare fields. Like the harvest moon, the hunter’s moon is also particularly bright and long in the sky, giving hunters the opportunity to stalk prey at night. Other names include the travel moon and the dying grass moon.

Seed-thought: In the great rhythm of creation, all things expand and then contract, and then expand again. Finding my way, in service to Love and Life, I choose the path that embraces both.

November 5, Wednesday

(Fullest Moon at 7:20 AM CST)

Beaver Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation TAURUS. Its energies return to relaxation and self-care, as well as tending to homelife. Some say the Beaver Moon name comes from the setting beaver traps during this month by North American indigenous peoples, while others say the name comes from the heavy activity of beavers building their winter dams. Another name is the frost moon.

Seed-thought: Difficulties and challenges are like guardians, testing and honing capacities for diving deep into Holy Experience. Persevering, I am ready to cross the threshold into the next Soul opening.

December 4, Thursday

(Fullest Moon at 5:15 PM CST)

Cold Moon

FULL MOON is in Constellation GEMINI. Energies return to a faster pace. It will be a highly productive, albeit busy time. Pause when needed. The coming of winter earned December’s full moon the name cold moon. Other names include the long night moon and the oak moon.

Seed-thought: The spiritual path is without beginning or end. I extend a hand to those behind me and take the hand of those in front of me. Together, we step forward. There is always more.
