Your Creative Voice: An Intuitive Painting Retreat
with Jean Werremeyer and Brita Rekve
Return to your creative wisdom.
Paint from within.
Be transformed.
Quiet the mind, awaken intuition, and deepen your connection to your authentic creative voice through Intuitive Painting.
Connect, center, and open to inner guidance. Let go of rules and create from within, gaining clarity, insight, and personal growth.
Creativity is not something we manufacture or master. It is our birthright—the quiet movement of spirit expressing itself through color, gesture, image, and form.
When we paint without striving, without trying to make something beautiful or meaningful, we begin to remember that creativity is not separate from who we are. It is the language of the soul, speaking in a way words never can.
There are no judgments, no critiques, and no techniques to perfect. There is only the invitation to show up exactly as you are and allow the brush to become an extension of your inner life.
Each mark, each color, each moment of hesitation or delight is welcomed as part of the conversation between your soul and the paper. Painting is not about producing art. It is about listening deeply, trusting what emerges, and giving yourself permission to be surprised by your own aliveness.
Pure creativity asks nothing of you except your presence. It does not demand skill or experience. It invites you to step beyond the habits of the thinking mind into a spacious field of curiosity, wonder, and discovery. In that freedom, something ancient and wise begins to move through you.

Your Guides for the Journey

Jean Werremeyer
Jean dove into the world of process painting under Gabe’s guidance, embracing curiosity, questions, and explorations. She then began reading Michele Cassou’s books and exploring daily intuitive painting practice. Cassou is considered the Mother of Intuitive Painting, and Jean was inspired by the freedom of the process. She traveled to Taos and Houston to paint with Michele and other Point Zero painters. Jean offered intuitive painting, drawing, and other creative classes to small groups in her home studio in the Twin Cities. She continues to enrich her life through pottery, painting, drawing, and creating. Jean recently moved to the Christine Center, where she serves as a board member and volunteer.

Brita Rekve
Painting under Gabe’s tutelage was a transformative and life-changing experience for Brita, opening doors and expanding her artistic horizons. She went on to study with Gabe’s initial teacher, Michele Cassou, receiving teaching training and painting in Taos, Esalen, and San Rafael with Michele and other instructors. Brita offered Intuitive Painting and other classes in her studio while living in the Ozarks. Now a resident of Ames, Iowa, she travels to the center to facilitate programs in shamanism and creativity. Brita believes spirituality and creativity are twin sisters, and she is passionate about sharing this joy with others.
