JourneyDance™ Workshop/Retreat

An Experiential Gathering for Renewal, Healing, Rejuvenation, and Rest through Creative Dance, Movement, Music, & Ritual Practices

October 11-13, 2024
with Mark Ensweiler

Join us this autumn for a transformative experiential gathering designed to deepen your reflection and connection in a supportive group setting. Explore the expressive and healing potentials of JourneyDance Flow™ through individual, expressive (non-performance oriented) movement, ritual, guided imagery, voice, and breath. This retreat offers a sanctuary to release tensions, open and connect deeply with your body, feelings, and senses; allowing for evocative and transformative experiences.

The invitation to open and go deeper into dance as a spiritual practice will be supported by a wide range of alive recorded music and guided facilitation. This is an invitation to explore your body as a sacred vehicle through a variety of healing practices.

Retreat Opportunity

Experience what might be called “Soul Motion, Body Prayer, Movement Meditation, Conscious Dance,” in your own unique and individual way. Being in a supportive group environment has the capacity to further enhance one’s inner experience and outer expression. Rather than having planned steps to follow or learn, the rhythms and music bring forth your own expression, emotion, passion, and choreography.

This type of movement experience, in a supportive group setting, is often:

Creative, Insightful, Inspiring, Releasing, Energizing, Relaxing, Devotional, and Healing.

Retreat Experience:

Music & Movement: Engage in a dynamic range of music – Sacred, world, instrumental, pop – facilitating a unique exploration of body and spirit.
Chakra Energy Centers: Awaken and explore the energetic, emotional, and mystical energies of our own chakra energy centers, with a special emphasis on the Heart center for healing, inner guidance, and authentic expression
Creative Expression: Discover your own movement and expression in a setting that nurtures spontaneous and authentic dance experiences.

What to Bring & Wear:

  • Comfortable, loose clothing suitable for movement, with options to layer. Dancing barefoot or in soft shoes is encouraged.
  • A journal for reflective writing and 1-2 sacred objects to contribute to our communal altar.

Program Highlights:

Guided Practices: No previous dance experience required, this is not performance based dance. Participate in movements that range from gentle to active, promoting deep internal awareness.
Sound Healing & Meditation: Integrate your experience with guided sound healing and quiet meditation, including a special Crystal Bowl Sound Healing session on Saturday evening.
Rest, Community, and Reflection: Time for rest, integration, and person journaling, as well as supportive group sharing throughout the weekend to lend towards a balanced and integrated experience. A longer break will be included after lunch to rest and/or explore the beautiful grounds and Nature.
