July 31–August 2, 2026

Many of us carry spiritual stories that are both beautiful and complicated – moments of wonder, belonging, and genuine encounter with the sacred, alongside questions, losses, disappointments, and places where the maps we inherited no longer seem able to guide us.
This hybrid retreat invites an honest and compassionate exploration of our spiritual journeys through storytelling, reflection, music, silence, journaling, contemplative practice, dialogue, and engagement with the natural world. Whether joining onsite at the Christine Center or online from home, we will gather as one retreat community, listening for the deeper stream beneath religion, the wild thread of hope woven through our stories, and the invitation to find our way home again – through story, mystery, contemplation, beauty, and the living presence of Christ.

Midwest Diamond Approach Retreat: The Soul Is Here for Its Own Joy
September 17-20, 2026
with Jim Lockridge, Kathleen Graham, Kara Vangen
What if joy is not something we have to earn, achieve, or stumble onto during our inner journey?
In the Diamond Approach, joy is understood not as a passing emotion, but as an essential quality of Being – alive, sensitive, radiant, spontaneous, and intelligent. It is much more than a search for happiness. The joyful heart does not stand back from experience or restrain itself as life happens to us. It meets life directly, openly, and intimately.
Through inquiry and presence, we will investigate the ways restraint has shaped our experience and limited the natural expression of the heart.
